Resident creates recycled garden
Mowdirect news > Gardening News
Thursday, March 06 2008 14:48:41 by Leigh Jackson
Leigh Jackson writes: A green-fingered Manchester resident has created an innovative garden almost exclusively from recycled material.
Paula Moulton, of Aldwick, has pent two years collecting refuse material from a range of sources to turn her once desolate garden into a unique outdoor space, the Manchester Evening News reports.
And the crowning glory of the eco-friendly area is an old toilet bowl which has been reincarnated into an attractive plant pot.
Refusing to take all the effort for the garden, Ms Moulton told the publication:" I think I love gardening because I was brought up in the countryside in Lincolnshire before I came to Manchester to university.
"My friends and neighbours have helped me. It has been a group effort."
Impressed with her efforts, Manchester City Council will feature the efforts of Ms Moulton in a new book on recycling, which is being produced as part of the Challenge Manchester - 100 Days to A Cleaner, Greener City campaign.
