Secret garden set to be saved

Leigh Jackson writes: Salisbury's Secret Garden has been saved at the expense of a scheme to create a new council headquarters.
The argument over the garden began last May when the council proposed their controversial £16 million scheme and began demolishing the outdoor space, the Western Daily Press reports.
But following massive protests and the voting out of the Conservative council, a new proposal for the council headquarters had to be submitted, safeguarding the future of the popular space.
The new plans were drawn up after extensive consultation with the public and councillor Andrew Roberts paid tribute to the local people for their involvement.
He told the publication: "We promised that we would listen to the concerns expressed by the local community and this new scheme has been designed to take into account local people's views.
Mr Roberts added: "I am particularly pleased that in response to views expressed the Secret Garden will not only be saved but it will also be improved with many original features reinstated."
