A woman from West Monkton, Somerset has been awarded a top prize for her contribution to gardening.
Patricia Davies-Gilbert tends to 100 public gardens as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) and has worked for the charity for more than 30 years.
In recognition of her green-fingered dedication, Ms Davies-Gilbert was presented with the Award of Merit by the organisation at the Royal Festival Hall.
NGS President Zac Goldsmith handed her the prestigious accolade, the Somerset County Gazette reports.
Ms Davies-Gilbert has been the NGS organiser for Somerset for ten years and makes a concerted effort to travel all over the county to visit various gardens.
She is demonstrative in helping with the NGS' efforts to raise money for charity. Last year it collected more than £50,000 for cancer and gardening causes.
The floral fan also opens her own garden at Coombe Quarry to the public on a regular basis.
