Resident honoured with garden
Mowdirect news > Gardening News
Wednesday, September 12 2007 10:30:00 by Leigh Jackson
Leigh Jackson writes: A Grimsby resident who lost a long battle with breast cancer was commemorated with a beautiful garden.
Diane Dimbleby died two years ago at the age of 52 and her friend Ann Green dedicated the Peace Haven Garden to her memory.
Ms Green held a fundraiser and enlisted the help of the local garden centre, which donated a bench, some slate and assortment of flowers, the Grimsby Telegraph reports.
Pleased to have honoured her friend, Ms Green told the publication: "Diane would have loved this garden. She loved the outdoors and nature.
"It is a lovely garden. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped.
"People gave up their time and did a fantastic job."
She added: "Rod from the garden centre told us to pick what we wanted. He then came to the garden with his father and his father's friend and they fitted it all."
