Flowerdew to design pet garden
Mowdirect news > Gardening News

Leigh Jackson writes: Celebrity gardening icon Bob Flowerdew has been enlisted by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) to design a garden for the charity's animal cemetery in Illford.
The cemetery, a resting place for more than 3,000 animals, is being renovated and will re-open in November to coincide with the charity's 90th anniversary, reports pethealthcare.
Delighted to be handed such a task Mr Flowerdew told the site: "I am honoured to have been asked to design the garden of remembrance for PDSA.
"I'm an avid animal lover. I know what incredible company pets are to so many people and how dedicated PDSA is to its charitable work treating sick and injured pets."
And Marilyn Rydstrom of the charity added: "PDSA is delighted to benefit from Bob's garden design expertise. When the various plants have had time to mature, the garden of remembrance will form a tranquil centrepiece for the cemetery."
The cemetery is home to 12 animals who have received the Dickin Medal, an animal version of the Victoria cross.
