Expensive garden furniture needs protection

Leigh Jackson writes: Garden furniture should not be left outside in the open as it will become an easy target for thieves, experts have warned.
According to Saga, consumers can lose their much loved garden wares if they do not ensure they are looked after, especially in the evening.
Advising that the best way to mitigate the potential loss is via insurance, John Potter at Saga said: "For many people it is not an option to put their garden furniture away on a daily basis, which of course makes it a target for opportunistic thieves."
Commenting on the hidden value or garden goods, he added: "People are now spending a lot more money on their gardens and research shows that over one million people in the UK spend over £150 or more every year on plants alone."
Meanwhile, an innovative school in West Yorkshire, with the help of local businesses, transformed their disused sandpit into a relaxing garden for its pupils.
