Chatsworth garden showcases high-brow art
Mowdirect news > Gardening News
Wednesday, September 05 2007 09:18:18 by Leigh Jackson
Leigh Jackson writes: Chatsworth's 105 acres of sumptuous gardens will play host to a display of unique sculptures.
The show, entitled Beyond Limits, features an array of classic carvings such as Michal Rovner's 'Makom' and Ju Ming's 'Tai-Chi Series: Preparation for Underarm Strike', the Financial Times reports.
But not to be outdone, more modern artists will be displaying their contemporary pieces. 'Belu' by Zaha Hedid makes good use of its surrounding and is well placed near a striking tree and the stainless steel 'Crouching Beast III' by Lynn Chadwick is well situated next to Ring Pond.
Meanwhile, the changeable British weather brought strange results for one Wiltshire resident.
Paula Lott has owned a small, up until now ornamental, banana tree which, due to the more tropical UK climate produced fruit for the first time since it has been in her possession.
Ms Lott has owned the tree for 15 years and expects the fruit to be edible by October.
