Joseph Clift writes: A disused school sandpit has been transformed, with a little help from a technology firm, into a garden for pupils.
West Yorkshire firm Ciba Speciality Chemicals took part in the community project after Low Moor Primary School asked for help.
Now, observers have termed the results "beautiful", and have praised the garden's "huge array of colours and textures".
Speaking to the Spenborough Guardian, Low Moor headteacher Virginia Hartley said: "Recently, the sandpit began to look a little old and the sand needed replacing.
"I asked if Ciba could help us create a small garden instead and was delighted that the company took up the challenge," she added.
"The employees have made such a difference to the area surrounding the playground and I can't believe what an improvement it has made, not just to the sandpit but to the whole school."
One of the aims of the garden is to attract wildlife for the children to learn about all year-round, the report adds.
