If you are looking for a helping hand when it comes to the gardening this winter, then a new book could provide inspiration for assistance from a surprise source - your children.
Passionate gardener, Stefan Buczacki, and his wife Beverley, have co-written a new book called Young Gardener which is designed for children aged between six and 11.
Speaking to the Scotsman newspaper, Mr Buczacki explained his motivation behind the guide which is educational to both children and more experienced adult gardeners.
"Gardeners don't happen automatically and if we don't inspire the next generation they're going to vanish," he told the paper.
As a result, the book is a wealthy source of gardening ideas and advice that will keep you busy all year round.
It even goes one step further in a child's gardening education by explaining how to safely use secateurs, hoes and other sharp objects.
Mr Buczacki commented: "Of course one's got to be sensible, but you can't cushion them against everything in life. Sooner or later they do need to learn how to use secateurs and to do it carefully.
"We do say have an adult with you or watch an adult do it first, but I'm a great believer that you can't wrap children in cotton wool."
And with further information on gardening practices such as weeding, pruning, lawnmowing and trimming, your garden is sure to be looking tip top in no time.
