Powerful log splitters from Mitox now back in stock

With credit card bills due to thud down on to the mat very soon you can keep home heating costs down by lighting a wood fire.

And while you may think that wielding a hefty axe is a good way of losing excess Christmas inches it is inadvisable if you are not used to it.

Many an injured back has resulted from what looks a simple task – especially if you are working on dense woods which have twisted grains – indeed some are impossible to split this way.

Far simpler is to use a mechanical log splitter and these machines from Mitox are among the best and are now back in stock.

Their basic machine is the Mitox LS40 Electric Log-Splitter which has a 1500W electric motor to power a hydraulic ram with a force of four tons.

It can take logs up to 37cm and has a return system to speed up the process and has five metres of cable.

It is safe and simple to use and costs £199, £50 less than the recommended price with a three-year warranty and free delivery the next working day.

If you prefer to work standing up the Mitox LS65X Multisplit Electric Log-Splitter might be the one for you.

This has a 2200W motor and an wedge which splits the logs into four pieces so chances are that you won’t have to split the same piece of wood more than once.

The company’s Quicksplit process speeds up the job by matching the splitting block to the length of the log.

The motor will produce 6.5 tons of force and it can take logs up to 52cm long. And a transport handle enables the splitter to be moved more easily.

It has five metres of power cable.

Great tool and great service’ comments one customer in a review.

The machine costs £269, £80 off the recommended price and there is free delivery the next working day with a three-year warranty.

If you prefer an upright the machine the Mitox LS700 Multisplit Electric Log-Splitter has been designed to help you split large quantities of logs.

It has a multiple splitting wedge and the Quicksplit feature so you can set the length the hydraulic travels to the length of the log.

The hydraulic power produced is seven tons from a 3000W motor so it can split twisted dense woods up to 104cm long.

It costs £599, £100 less than the recommended price and we deliver it free of charge within two to three working days of receiving your order.

And the top-of-the range machine is the Mitox LS700BS Multisplit Petrol Log-Splitter with splitting power of seven tons developed by a Briggs & Stratton 6.5hp engine.

Being petrol powered it can be used in more remote locations and again it has the company’s Multisplit and Quicksplit features.

This is a machine for houses where there are several open fires and wood burners as it can produce a substantial pile of logs very quickly and can handle wood 104cm long.

The recommended price is £1099 but we have it for sale for £899 with free delivery in two to three years with a two-year warranty.

Our full list of long splitters can be seen on these pages and remember you can give us a ring if you would like more information on any of these machines before you buy.

We wish you all a happy and prosperous new year and remember you can get us during normal office hours on 020 3026 8712.
