Tillers and cultivators take the pain out of digging

Cobra mini tiller

The garden is taking on an autumnal feel. Lawns soaked in dew, hedgerows glistening with cobwebs and alive with blood red hips and haws and a vegetable patch bursting with crops which need gathering and storing before the frost sets in.

In a few weeks’ time we’ll also need to think about an initial tidy of the borders and shrubberies.

We’re facing a fait bit of digging however you look at it and you may be thinking of buying a cultivator to make the task easier.

So here are a couple of machines from Cobra to take the back ache out of digging.

The Cobra T40B Petrol Cultivator has a powerful Briggs & Stratton engine which drive four 28cm steel tines. These will dig down to 25cm. The working width is 40cm.

It is light and easy to use and is the right width to work between the rows of vegetables.

It costs £269.99 a £30 saving on the recommended price, has a two year warranty and we deliver it free the next working day.

If you’re after a bigger machine then the Cobra T60RB Petrol Cultivator will do the trick.

Powered by a Briggs & Stratton 190 cc engine it is an easy starter and has six rotors with four blades each and a 60cm working width.

A reverse gear can be engaged of the cultivator digs itself in and there is a transport wheel to make it easy to move around the garden or allotment.

The machine is fitted with a depth gauge and comes with crop protection discs.

It costs £419.99, so you save £30 on the recommended price and delivery is free the next working day. Again, there is a two year warranty from the manufacturer.

If you would like our advice before purchasing, please ring us during office hours on 020 3026 8712.

And see these page for a fuller list of tillers and cultivators, we’ve got machines which will take on everything from a small garden vegetable patch to a commercial smallholding.
