Gardeners ‘have options with long grass’

There are many tasks that gardeners face at this time of year – not least of which is grass maintenance.

Needless to say, here at MowDIRECT we are big advocates of lawn care – and Michael Leapman is one expert who would appear to agree.

In an article for the Daily Telegraph, the gardening expert and author of the allotment book One Man and His Plot said that lawn stripes are symbolic of man's mastery over nature.

Garden writer Jean Vernon noted that some people prefer to have wild areas of long grass.

Writing for the same newspaper, she noted that: "Thanks to the deluges interspersed with sunshine we've enjoyed all summer, grass has grown thick and long."

She recommended scything and raking in order to maintain some semblance of tidiness.
