Verbascum could be the ideal plant for gardeners looking to grow something new.

In an article for the Guardian, garden writer Kendra Wilson said that this is her ideal plant.

She explained this is because of its versatility – it can be perfectly well suited to a wide range of external outdoor conditions.

"It does elegant as well as roadside and it manages to define a Beatrix Potter style of cottage garden while keeping its distance. It will work in any context you care to give it," she explained.
