Gardeners assembling in Dublin for major event

Gardeners assembling in Dublin for major event<br>
While all eyes have been on the Chelsea Flower Show over the past week or so, there are plenty other activities taking place.

Chelsea is undoubtedly a key event in the horticultural calendar, but green-fingered enthusiasts could put down their garden tools and head to an event that is just as significant next week.

Taking advantage of the extended bank holiday for the Queen's Jubilee, Dublin in Bloom is the largest gardening event in Ireland.

It takes place in Phoenix Park Dublin and runs from May 31st to June 4th – and the 2012 version is the fifth consecutive year the event has taken place.

Over 50,000 people regularly make the trip to the 70 acre site and last year's show was the most successful yet – attracting crowds of over 90,000.

Perhaps of most interest to those who love working with their garden equipment is an expert stage, which offers advice from seasoned professionals, covering everything from creative planning to fruit growing tips.
