Three top mowers with electric start
Petrol lawnmowers with an electric start are becoming ever more popular and here we list three which should be on your short list if you are considering buying one.
Einhell BG-PM electric start mower
With a turn of the key this machine is ready for the off with its 51 cm cutting width and large sized grass box with an indicator to show when it’s full.
For a better cut it has a grass comb at the front which gives a better finish and more even cut and it has four options for dealing with the cuttings – either mulching and returning to the lawn, discharging to the back or side or collection in the box.
The cutting height is easily adjusted.
It has a powder coated steel deck for a long life and a 163 cc low emission engine.
Large rear wheels make it easy to drive around the lawns.
The manufacturer’s recommended price for this machine is £519.95 but we have it for sale for £359.95. It comes with a two year maker’s warranty and free delivery the next working day.
Mountfield electric start petrol mower
The Mountfield S461-PD/ES Power Driven Petrol Lawn Mower (Electric Key-Start) has one of the company’s 160 cc engines fired up with a key start so you won’t have to spend time tugging on a cord.
The cutting width is 46 cm and it is solidly built with a steel chassis powder coated to prolong life.
There are six cutting heights from 25 to 75 mm so it is suitable for a wide range of tasks and a 60 litre grass box.
Our price for this mower is £419, a full £100 less than the manufacturer’s recommended price.
This mower is tested before despatch and delivery is free the next working day. There is a two year maker’s guarantee.
Al-Ko lawnmower
It too has four options for dealing with the cuttings – and there are seven cutting height options from 30 to 70 mm meaning it can tackle a wide range of cutting tasks around the garden.
It is powered by a reliable Briggs & Stratton engine and has a steel deck which has a five year warranty and is designed for excellent collection to minimise clogging – and there is a 70 litre grass box.
Wheels are ball bearing mounted for smoother use and reduced wear.
This mower costs £469 and there is a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
Delivery is free the next working day.
