The Mitox is light, well balanced and easy to use and is suitable for both the amateur and professional. Cost: £269.
Stihl chainsaw
This model is £459.95, as opposed to the recommended price of £495.95, but should you need a longer guide bar these can be obtained.
A truly powerful machine and one favoured by the professional this is often preferred by those working in forests and woodland as it is really robust with a 45.4 cc engine and a very efficient chain.
It is also easy to start and with a simple method of adjusting the chain tension.
But we know that there are some people who don’t like to use chain saws and yet still have a big pile of logs to saw up.
German manufacturer Einhell have come up with the answer, a log cutting saw / bench saw.
Cleverly designed to conceal the cutting saw it is a really neat machine enabling the fast cutting of logs to what every size you want quickly and efficiently.
Electrically powered, it has a fast revolving blade and has an in-built log stop to ensure the correct size of log.
There is nothing more frustrating in having logs just too long for the wood burner!
