Its fast-acting chain-brake stops the chain almost instantaneously, should kick-back occur; while its automatic chain-oiler greatly improves the chain’s longevity by reducing friction, and therefore wear. Other features include Ryobi’s ‘GripZone’ overmould technology, for comfortable operation with a positive grip; a large-capacity oil-tank with an oil-level indicator; and a ‘Livetool Indicator’, which glows blue when the saw is plugged into the mains. The RCS-2040 weighs just 5kg and has a 10-metre mains-cable.
