The new series of roller mowers from Mountfield fulfil these criteria, and more - for that classic striped lawn finish they are truly in a class of their own. Designed to care for large areas of fine lawn, these machines have power to spare provided by a choice of Mountfield and Briggs & Stratton engines and feature aluminium cutter decks that carry a 20-year anticorrosion warranty. Inset front wheels and a wide rear roller provide excellent manoeuvrability for cutting right up to lawn edges and borders. A single lever height of cut adjustment, with nine settings, allows the optimum cutting height to be selected quickly and easily to suit individual working conditions. Requiring only the lightest operating pressure the soft grip control levers are comfortable to use, even during extended working periods.

With a choice of recoil or electric key start (see below), all models are driven with a four speed 'CHANGE ON THE MOVE' transmission, adjustable handles, double ball bearing wheels and large capacity grass collectors. Lightweight and well balanced these machines are a pleasure to use - treat your lawn to a new Mountfield R-Series!

The Mountfield 484R has a 48cm/19" cutting width and 9-position height of cut adjuster which operates between 18-65mm. The large sized grass collector with hard top will collect 65 litres of cuttings for less stops. Fitted with the powerful and reliable Mountfield RM55 5.5hp engine, this lightweight aluminium deck mower has Operator Presence Control for safety and a variable speed of up to 4.5kph/2.7mph.
