Let The Wood Do The Work
Let
us straightaway get rid of a potential preconception:
Eliet's patented chopping technique is not based on engine power. "The higher
the engine power the better the shredder" is a widely believed fallacy.
In fact, Eliet subscribes to the opposite point of view. Only if an engine needs
less power to achieve similar results can it be considered a good machine. Eliet
knows how to make maximum use of the available engine power.
What is the
best way to finely chop wood without expending too much energy? Just think of
how you yourself chop up a block of wood. If you wildly start chopping at a
block of wood and put in enough blood, sweat and tears, you ultimately get the
job done. But if you hit the block with a single well-aimed blow in the same
direction as the fibres, it will largely split itself. In short, the wood does
the work for you. This is the method used by Eliet shredders. The knives
chop the branches like axes and split them in the same direction as the fibres.
The chips are chopped up further until they are small enough to fall through
a sieve. Because the machine needs less power, the drawbacks of shredding are
reduced to a complete minimum. Which in turn results in....
Belt drive
Everything on this professional machine is designed to have a long operating life. ELIET therefore decided to have the engine power transmitted via a belt transmission. When encountering obstacles, the impact of a sudden blockage is absorbed by the belt and not by the crankshaft of the engine. This prevents fatigue of the crankshaft that, in turn, extends the operating life of the engine.
Straightforward Infeed
The Eliet shredders have a large shredding surface which extends the entire feed-in width. Most other wood chippers have a funnel-shaped feed-in opening that has a large feed-in surface, but only a small shredding surface. It is self-evident that the operating speed of the chipper depends for 50% on the ability to feed in more easily. This is yet another advantage of using an ELIET machine.
Biotech Chips
The Chopping Principle unique to Eliet squashes and unravels the chips intensely. As a result the grain structure of these Eliet 'Biotech' chips is well suited to decomposition. Once chipping is complete you'll have a good, airy mixture with just the right moisture content. That why Biotech chips improve your composting system.
Flexibility
Thanks to the Chopping Principle, the ELIET shredders are equipped with an extremely versatile chopping system. Many different types and shapes of garden waste can be easily processed, including:

Each day, gardeners are confronted with each type of the above-mentioned garden waste. The Eliet shredder will simply go ahead and chop everything into uniform, fine chippings that are nice to look at and that can be easily used as organic matter in the garden. The chippings are extremely suitable for composting thanks to the way in which they are chopped.
