A great cut is at the heart and soul of every Simplicity.  On Legacy, its ensured with full-width rollers that glide smoothly even over subtle ground imperfections.  Cutting height is electrically adjusted at the touch of a switch.  And the shaft-driven drive system results in solid, well balanced performance.  Exceptional traction is the result of Automatic Controlled Traction™ which provides power to both drive wheels to handle wet slippery conditions, yet releases in tight turns to eliminate turf damage.  The differential lock system goes even further by providing full-drive power to both wheels when engaged.  And hi/lo range transaxle provides added drive ratio versatility.  Lighted operator zone controls illuminate an array of instrumentation and numerous analog gauges, including fuel gauge, tachometer, water temperature and voltmeter.  Some people prefer foot-controlled acceleration, like a car, others prefer hand controls.  Legacy's Twin Shift™ drive controls provide both.  For large mowing areas, the hand control also serves as a cruise control for easier operation.

For ultimate performance, maximum torque and fuel efficiency, the Legacy 2454 comes equipped with a Briggs & Stratton, in-line, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine.
