The Lawnflite LS2800E Vertical Log Splitter has an extremely powerful 2800 watt electric motor and employs a hydraulic ram to exert 5.5 tonnes of pressure. It will split both soft woods and close grain hard woods such as cherry.
The base plate on this log splitter can be adjusted to three separate positions depending on the size of logs you are chopping. In position 1 the log splitter can be used to split smaller logs up to a maximum length of 54 cm (21.25”); in position 2 medium sized logs up to 79 cm (31.1”); and in position 3 larger-sized logs up to 105 cm (41.3”) in length can be handled. By being able to adjust the base plate in this manner you both increase the work rate of the log splitter and save on energy as the hydraulic ram has less distance to travel when chopping smaller and medium sized logs. The maximum recommended log diameter for each of the three positions is 32 cm (12.5”).
The overall weight of the Lawnflite LS2800E Log Splitter is just 97 kg, making more manoeuvrable than some of the other models on the market. It comes fitted with wheels and a transport handle enabling the unit to be easily transported from its place of storage to your area of work.
To ensure safe operation your hands have to be holding onto the activation levers attached to the outer parts of each of the clamps which hold the log in place. The levers are shielded from the splitting action and the log splitter will only work when your hands are clear of any danger.
